This ceramic jar comes from the Mesnil de Bavent pottery in the Normandy region of France.
The kiln was founded in 1842 and is renowned for producing terracotta ceramics, roof tiles, and decorative pottery.
Its surface is covered with a thick black glaze, applied in a rugged and full-bodied manner.
Small ear-shaped handles are set on both shoulders of the jar.
The base is impressed with the mark “Tuilerie Normande Bavent.”
It is suitable as a decorative focal point in interiors or spaces, and also works beautifully for displaying plants or dried flowers.
The piece creates a vintage countryside or French rustic atmosphere.
